Into the Dragons Den

Swan Solutions Ltd Director, Andrew Horrocks is looking forward to participating in the Warrington NCS Dragon’s Den 2019 in association with The Pledge and WYC.

The National Citizen Programme (NCS) is a four-week initiative delivered by Warrington Youth Club. Aimed at getting young individuals out there, meeting others, gaining new skills and making a difference in their community.

​

During week three of the NCS Programme the young people in groups plan a community project.

Andrew was asked to be a participant in creating a Dragon’s Den environment for the young people to pitch their ideas to.

Each pitch will take approximately 15 mins.

 

The young people would have spent the previous two weeks on residential away in North Wales doing outdoor activities and team building, the second residential is in the University campus in Birchwood, developing young people’s living skills and working with community partners.

Priestley College Warrington, will then host the young people where they will plan a Social Action Project, aimed at supporting a local charity or cause that the young people plan and manage as their own project with staff support.

This is a youth led project to give young people those skills and experience that are so valued in later life.

​

Presentations are planned by the young people to present the ideas and plans for their project.

They are told to consider specifics of their project, why they chose that cause, contingency plans and logistics.

It can be as adventurous as they want to make them.
